FATHERS AND BLESSINGS (FAB) NFP

We have formed a strategic alliance with community partners to offer two core programs: a youth sports program and a youth employment and empowerment program.

YOUTH SPORTS PROGRAM

FATHERS AND BLESSINGS (FAB) NFP has established a youth sports program for children in grades 3rd through 8th. The fundamental aspect of this program is that it is provided for free and is open to all children in the Dolton community.

The program includes:

  • Basketball

  • Baseball

  • Golf

  • Archery

  • Tennis

  • Experienced coaching

In February 2017, we kicked off our pilot program with a youth basketball league. This league infused calisthenics, endurance, athleticism, sportsmanship, teamwork, and accountability. In conjunction with training, discipline, and self-esteem building, FAB provided transportation for games and practices, along with uniforms for participants, all at no expense to the families.

YOUTH EMPLOYMENT & EMPOWERMENT SKILLS (Y.E.S.) MENTORSHIP TRAINING LEARN & EARN PROGRAM

FATHERS AND BLESSINGS (FAB) NFP is also working with local school districts and other youth development organizations to successfully implement the Youth Empowerment Synergy Mentoring Training Program (Y.E.S.). This program is strategically designed to provide participants between the ages of 7 and 21 with general soft skills. This includes, but is not limited to, applicable landscaping and agricultural skills that would enable them to be utilized both in the workplace and in everyday life. Skills acquired from this program will prepare youth to be productive learners and earners in the workplace. This program also provides the knowledge to perform well on the job while attending additional educational and skill training programs.

The program includes a mentoring component that encompasses:

  • Entrepreneurial Training

  • Political Etiquette

  • Resume Writing

  • College Preparation/Advising

  • Job Readiness

  • Culinary Arts

  • Conflict Resolution

  • Responsibility

  • Exposure to Financial Planning

  • Introduction to Money Management

  • Experienced Mentoring Staff

This program is offered at no out-of-pocket expense to participants.
